We are partnering with Onboard Dynamics, a leading innovator in the development and deployment of natural gas compression technology in the search for an Accounting Manager. Our mission is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote the use of clean energy solutions. This is a full-time, onsite role in the Bend, Oregon office.
What You Get to Do!
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting business decision-making through timely analysis and insights. This role involves managing accounting staff, maintaining internal controls, and partnering with leadership to uphold financial integrity and compliance.
Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage the general ledger, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Ensure accuracy in balance sheet and P&L accounts through consistent reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Assist with cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation and cost variance analysis
Management & Leadership
• Supervise and mentor junior staff.
• Review team deliverables for accuracy and timeliness.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and performance management of accounting staff.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, and leadership teams.
Compliance & Controls
• Maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with tax, payroll, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with annual audit and coordinate with external auditors.
• Implement and document accounting policies and procedures.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analysis
• Support annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting processes.
• Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
• Provide insights into cash flow, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Systems & Process Improvement
• Utilize and optimize accounting software (Sage Intacct).
• Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Support system integrations and reporting enhancements.
What You Will Bring…
• Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar).
• Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, leadership abilities, and strong communication skills.
• Preferred Industry Experience: Manufacturing
