Smart Home Installer / Technician

Location: Northbrook, IL
Pay: $25–$35 per hour (Based on Experience)

 

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Smart Home Installer / Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on installation work and has strong troubleshooting skills. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and servicing residential and commercial smart technology systems including audio/video, networking, security cameras, access control, and automation systems.

Responsibilities:

·         Install and configure low-voltage systems including audio/video, networking, cameras, access control, and smart automation solutions

·         Troubleshoot hardware, wiring, connectivity, and device communication issues

·         Program and test systems to ensure proper functionality after installation

·         Provide professional onsite customer service and communicate project updates clearly

 

Requirements:

·         2+ years of experience installing low-voltage, AV, security, access control, or networking systems

·         Strong troubleshooting skills involving hardware, wiring, connectivity, and system performance

·         Experience configuring and testing systems after installation

·         Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

·         Smart automation programming experience preferred

·         Experience with Control4, Crestron, Savant, Ubiquiti, Sonos, Lutron, Cisco, or similar platforms preferred

·         Networking knowledge including routers, switches, Wi-Fi optimization, and IP addressing
