We have a client in Tualatin seeking a reliable and motivated Saw Operator. This position is ideal for someone who has experience working with precision cutting equipment, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality parts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable operating and maintaining industrial saw equipment in a production environment. This will be fast paced and a qualified candidate will be safety minded but energetic in their duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and set up a Blohm saw to cut materials to precise specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and cut lists to ensure accuracy.
Measure and verify material dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
Adjust machine settings, feeds, and speeds based on material type and job requirements.
Monitor cutting operations to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance on the saw, including blade changes and lubrication.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards or equipment issues.
Collaborate with team members and assist in other production tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience operating industrial saws (Blohm or similar precision saws) strongly preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and understand technical drawings.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Experience using precision measuring instruments.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Dependable, punctual, and committed to safety and quality.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions
Ability to accurately read numbers and correctly perform basic mathematical functions
Ability to use measuring tools
Ability to report to work on time and work the fully scheduled shift
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to see and/or hear warning lights or buzzers
Ability to read job orders
Ability to understand general safety requirements
Ability to recognize and report safety problems
Schedule: Mon - Thurs 3:00PM - 1:30AM
You will train for a week on day shift (M-Th 5AM- 3:30PM) and then transition to swing shift after training.
