Express Employment is working with a long-standing family-owned business within the automotive industry that is seeking a Mechanical Drafter/Designer for a permanent position with their company. Candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor and have a minimum of 1-year experience as a drafter/designer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create designs and edit existing designs for parts & products
• Create bill of materials for designs
• Work with fabricators and welders to document changes they make to designs

Candidate must be:

• Proficient with Microsoft office products.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor or similar 3D software.
• Create drawings and bill of material. Work with fabricators and welders to document designs and as built drawings.
• Experience in a fabrication environment and automotive industry is a PLUS.
• Able to take direction from company owner and lead drafter.
• Able to use measuring tools - calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Able to work a schedule of 6:30am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday (overtime weekdays may be required); Saturdays (if required) 6:30am-Noon

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design / Drafting
• Past experience in a fabrication environment within the automotive industry
