Class A CDL Driver (Local Routes) | Temporary Full-Time

Pay: $32.00-$34.00 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
Hours: Start at 5:30 AM, typically finished by 1:30 PM-2:00 PM
Assignment Length: 4-6 Month Temporary Assignment (Potential Temp-to-Hire Opportunity)
Home Daily | No OTR

Position Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class A CDL Driver on behalf of our client for a full-time, temporary driving assignment. This is a great opportunity for a safety-focused driver seeking a consistent weekday schedule with local routes and daily home time.

Drivers will primarily transport manufactured pallets, lumber, and related materials using a 53-foot flatbed trailer and 53-foot dry van, with some local deliveries utilizing a 26-foot straight truck.

Equipment & Freight

Drivers will operate:

• Class A tractor with 53-foot flatbed trailer
• Class A tractor with 53-foot dry van trailer
• 26-foot straight truck for local deliveries as needed

Freight includes:

• Manufactured pallets
• Lumber and wood products
• Building materials
• Local and regional customer deliveries

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A commercial tractor-trailer equipment
• Pick up and deliver pallets, lumber, and related materials
• Inspect, secure, and verify loads prior to transport
• Complete local and regional delivery routes
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Accurately complete delivery paperwork and electronic driver logs
• Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and transportation management regarding deliveries, delays, equipment concerns, or customer issues
• Provide professional customer service during pickups and deliveries
• Safely operate a 26-foot straight truck when assigned
• Maintain equipment in a clean and professional condition

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Previous Class A commercial driving experience
• Experience operating 53-foot flatbed and dry van trailers
• Experience with proper load securement techniques
• Safe driving record
• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Ability to perform and document vehicle inspections
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to safely operate in local and regional delivery environments
• Must meet all DOT driver qualification requirements
• Must be able to successfully pass DOT-required drug and alcohol screening

Preferred Qualifications

Highly preferred experience includes:

• Hauling lumber, pallets, or building materials
• Flatbed hauling and load securement
• Operating doubles
• Doubles/Triples (T) Endorsement
• Experience transporting similar freight types
