C.R. England has multiple dispatches a shift, a mix of live load and drop and hook freight, and home every day: that is the work on this local intermodal fleet in Portland, OR.

Most dispatches stay within 0-300 miles of the rail ramp, and you drive a day cab. It suits experienced CDL-A drivers who want steady local work without weeks away.

Daily Work:

  • Multiple dispatches in a typical shift
  • Mix of live load and drop and hook freight
  • Average dispatch runs 0-300 miles of the rail ramp
  • Expect 10-12 hours per day
  • Occasional customer or mechanical delays may require an overnight stay

Home Time:

  • Home daily
  • 5 days a week by schedule
  • Optional 6th day available

  • Day cab tractors
  • One of the newest fleets in the country, kept running smoothly so your rig does not slow you down

Requirements:

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • 21 years of age or older
  • 3+ months of recent Class A CDL experience
  • Transportation to and from the yard as trucks cannot be taken home
  • This lane is not suitable for students, recent grads, or trainees
