CNC Lathe Machine Operator / Set-Up Technician

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per Hour (DOE)
Shift Options:

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

We are seeking experienced CNC Lathe Machine Operators / Set-Up Technicians to join a growing and highly respected metal manufacturing company. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled machinists who take pride in producing high-quality precision parts while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating CNC lathes, interpreting blueprints, making offsets, and ensuring products meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC lathe machines to produce precision-machined components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Select and install tooling, fixtures, and machine programs as required.
• Perform machine adjustments, tool offsets, and quality checks throughout production runs.
• Measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Maintain production efficiency while meeting quality and safety standards.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.

Qualifications

• Previous CNC Lathe Set-Up and Operating experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and machine offsets.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Knowledge of metal manufacturing and production environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years of CNC Lathe operating and set-up experience.
• Experience working with tight tolerances and precision-machined components.
• Familiarity with G-code programming is a plus.
• Experience in aerospace, industrial, medical, or metal manufacturing environments preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required.
• Manual dexterity to operate machinery and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise and metal materials.
