Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Precision CNC Machinist proficient on the Prototrak K3 DPM5 to join our team. In this role, you will program, set up, and operate a Prototrak K3 DPM5 to produce high-quality parts that meet exact specifications. What You'll Do:
- Set up and operate a Prototrak K3 DPM5, including tool and fixture offsets
- Perform basic CNC programming and edit existing programs as needed
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tool holders
- Use print specifications to hold tolerances of +/- 0.005 or tighter as required.
- Adjust tooling and offsets to ensure parts meet print requirements and improve cycle times
- Apply knowledge of speeds, feeds, and depths of cut for various materials
- Follow job routings, setup sheets, and established sequences of operations
- Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, and other inspection equipment
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining or quality issues
Job Requirements:
- Prototrak experience required
- Understanding concepts of speeds & feeds as they apply to different material types
- Strong working knowledge of tooling setups, fixturing, and conversational code programming
- Strong mathematical skills for basic calculations related to machining operations
- Read blueprints to determine specifications and requirements necessary to machine a quality part
- Be detailed oriented
- Able to take initiative without frequent direction and oversight
- Be able to stand, push, pull, reach overhead, and lift between 10-50lbs frequently
