Responsibilities

• Manage commercial ground-up construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring schedules, budgets, quality, and safety standards are met.
• Oversee General Contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, conducting regular site visits (typically weekly or as needed) and leading project status meetings.
• Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, and bid packages (RFPs), while coordinating contractor selection and procurement activities.
• Monitor construction progress, identify and resolve constructability issues, and proactively manage project risks to prevent delays and cost overruns.
• Review change orders, contractual revisions, contractor pay applications, and project documentation for accuracy and owner approval.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, municipal regulations, zoning requirements, and all applicable quality and safety standards.
• Resolve project issues, negotiate solutions with stakeholders, and maintain clear communication with owners, contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of commercial construction management experience, with a strong preference for ground-up construction projects over renovation-only experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Extensive knowledge of all phases of commercial construction, including field operations, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
• Proven experience managing General Contractors, subcontractors, and multiple project stakeholders.
• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and be on-site approximately once per week or as project needs require.
• Strong understanding of building codes, permitting, municipal regulations, and construction contract administration.
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills with a strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
