Counter Sales/Inventory Position

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and knowledgeable Counter Sales/Inventory Associate. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge hydraulic equipment and serve our valued customers in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details

• Pay: $21.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Location: Vancouver, WA

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service at the sales counter
• Process sales transactions and handle customer inquiries
• Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records
• Assist customers with product selection and technical questions
• Coordinate with warehouse team for order fulfillment
• Maintain organized and clean work environment

Required Qualifications

• Excellent attendance and punctuality record (this is our top priority)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• High school diploma or equivalent

Essential Industry Experience Requirements

We are specifically looking for candidates who meet one or more of the following criteria:

1. Hose Shop Experience

• Previous work experience in a hose shop environment
• Experience in counter sales, inside sales, or outside sales within the hose industry
• Understanding of hose shop operations and customer service expectations

2. Hands-On Technical Experience

• Demonstrated experience building and/or assembling hydraulic hoses
• Practical experience with industrial hose assembly
• Knowledge of proper assembly techniques and safety procedures

3. Hose Product Knowledge

• Formal or informal training in hose specifications including:
  • Various hose sizes and measurements
  • Different hose types and their applications
  • Industry-specific hose requirements
  • Pressure ratings and compatibility factors

4. Fitting Expertise

• Knowledge of fitting types, sizes, and applications including:
  • Hydraulic fittings and connections
  • Industrial fitting specifications
  • Proper fitting selection for specific applications
  • Compatibility between hoses and fittings

5. ERP Software Experience

• Experience working with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software systems
• Ability to navigate software for order entry
• Proficiency in searching and locating part numbers within system databases
• Understanding of inventory management through software platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in hydraulic systems, industrial equipment, or related field
• Knowledge of hydraulic components, fittings, and applications
• Experience in parts sales or inventory management
• Familiarity with industrial/commercial customer needs
