Job Title: Cut-to-Length Operator (Bandsaw) - 2nd Shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Cut-to-Length Operator to join our 2nd-shift team. This role focuses on using a bandsaw or other cutting machines to cut raw metals to specified lengths while maintaining safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a bandsaw or other cutting machines to cut metal bars, tubes, or sheets to customer-specified lengths.
• Review work orders to confirm material type, cut length, and quantity required.
• Use basic measuring tools-such as tape measures and calipers-to verify cut accuracy.
• Load and unload materials onto the bandsaw using manual or assisted lifting methods.
• Inspect finished pieces for quality, including correct dimensions and clean cuts.
• Bundle, label, and stage completed orders for further processing or shipping.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safe operation of equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures, including required PPE and machine lockout processes.
• Communicate equipment issues or material shortages to the lead or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with hand tools is a plus.
• Willingness to learn bandsaw operation and other metal cutting techniques.
• Ability to use basic measuring tools (training provided).
• Ability to stand, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.
• Dependable attendance for the 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM shift.

Work Environment

• Industrial shop setting with moving equipment, noise, and metal materials.
• PPE required (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection).
• Hands-on, team-oriented environment with on-the-job training.
