Design & Sales Consultant
Position Overview
This role combines sales, client service, showroom support, and light design assistance, helping clients select finishes, fabrics, window coverings, and other interior products.
The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This position also provides support for office operations and outside sales as needed. Compensation includes salary plus commission.
Key Responsibilities
• Sales & Client Experience
• Assist clients with product selections, colors, materials, textures, and overall design direction
• Sell products and services
• Visit customer homes and project sites when needed
• Build relationships with homeowners, contractors, real estate agents, and referral partners
• Generate new sales opportunities through networking and community engagement
• Attend networking events, home shows, and industry functions
• Follow up with customers throughout the sales and installation process
• Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after installation
Operations & Team Support
• Process orders with vendors and suppliers
• Track customer orders and provide regular updates
• Collect payments and submit documentation to the office
• Attend weekly sales meetings and contribute feedback from the field
• Occasionally provide showroom coverage
• Support both office operations and outside sales when needed
Design Support
• Help clients coordinate finishes, fabrics, rugs, lighting, and surface materials
• Assist with basic space planning and measurements
• Support the development of mood boards, presentations, and design concepts
• Stay informed on current design trends and product offerings
Qualifications
• Background or interest in interior design, home furnishings, sales, or related field
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to build relationships
• Organized and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and wear multiple hats
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
