Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals – Forest Lake is seeking an experienced and dependable Diesel Technician for a growing company in Pine City, MN. This part-time opportunity is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys working independently, and can effectively communicate with customers. The position has the potential to become full-time for candidates interested in assuming future managerial responsibilities.

Pay & Schedule

• Hourly Pay: $30.00/hour
• Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Lunch Break: 1-hour unpaid lunch
• Pay Frequency: Weekly
• Employment Type: Evaluation-to-Hire
• Location: Pine City, MN

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel tractors and related equipment.
• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, and drivetrains.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair recommendations, timelines, and service updates.
• Work with manufacturers and technical support teams to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
• Complete detailed and accurate work orders documenting diagnoses, repairs, parts used, and labor performed.
• Collect and submit warranty information with proper supporting documentation.
• Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality standards and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Take pride in workmanship and consistently deliver high-quality repairs.

Qualifications

• Previous diesel technician/mechanic experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, and repair procedures.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.
• Experience completing repair documentation and work orders accurately.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Interest in future leadership or management responsibilities is a plus.
