DOT Driver/ Service Technician

Location: Fairfield, Oh

Qualifications

• Education & Licensing: High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver's license with a clean record; must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
• Physical Capability: Ability to frequently lift and move up to 55 lbs and operate a forklift.
• Technical Background: Basic proficiency with handheld mechanical tools; experience with water treatment, boiler operations, or PLCs is a major plus.
• Electrical Knowledge: Basic electrical experience is highly preferred for equipment troubleshooting.
• Availability: Willingness to work overtime, participate in a weekend on-call rotation, and travel overnight (with 2-3 days' notice) as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Drive company vehicles in full compliance with DOT regulations, ensuring all freight is properly secured and documented.
• Logistics Management: Load/unload goods and manage delivery schedules flexibly to meet shifting customer demands.
• Field Service: Perform onsite service tech work, including the installation, diagnosis, and repair of water treatment equipment.
• Inventory Control: Count and verify the condition of all goods delivered to or returned from customer locations.
• Operational Support: Assist with internal plant operations and complete special projects as assigned by management.

• Technical Diagnostics: Ability to service, repair, and install complex water treatment goods and machinery.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of plumbing, water valves, electrical systems, and basic mechanical tools.
• Communication: Clear verbal interaction skills for coordinating with managers, peers, and clients.
• Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating forklifts and various handheld mechanical devices.
• Adaptability: Ability to pivot between delivery driving and technical service tasks in a fast-paced environment.
