Express Employment is now hiring a Fleet Mechanic for a well-known, reputable contractor in Longview, Washington.

Overview: The Fleet Mechanic plays a key role in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing various systems on equipment and vehicles, including but not limited to semi-trucks/trailers, aerial lifts, forklifts, excavators, backhoes, cranes, air compressors, welders, pickups, and flatbeds. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, highly skilled, and adaptable problem-solvers with a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Shift:

• Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4:00PM

Pay:

• $26.00-$34.00 DOE

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, service and repair various systems on equipment and vehicles; including but not limited to semi-trucks/trailers, aerial lifts, forklifts, excavators, backhoes, cranes, air compressors, welders, pickups, and flatbeds
• Order parts.
• Use a scanner to diagnose Vehicle problems
• Maintain, Clean and organized work area including service truck.

Education Required:

• High school Diploma or Equivalent Certification
• Preferred: Successful completion of training courses in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy machinery and vehicles.
• Preferred: Class A CDL license.

Experience Required:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy machinery and vehicles.

Required Skills:

• Must be proficient in repairing diesel/gas engines and related components.
• The ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Must be safety oriented.
• Must be a highly motivated, self-starter with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
• Commitment to exemplary attendance record.
• Must have valid driver's license with clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

1. The position requires the ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
2. It demands frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling throughout the workday, as well as proficiency in using hand and power tools, which require manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
3. Good vision and hearing are essential, along with the ability to operate and maneuver vehicles and heavy equipment safely.
4. Employees must adhere to a specific dress code, including sturdy, closed-toe non-slip shoes, comfortable but fitted clothing, and long pants for safety and efficiency in the shop.
