General Labor - 2nd Shift

Location: Sycamore, IL

Shift Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 2:15 PM - 12:45 AM

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Job Description: In this position you will be responsible for loading and unloading machines, stacking, sorting, and banding finished product and preparing for shipment. This is a fast-paced position that requires attention and movement throughout the shift.

Responsibilities:

• Manually move freight, stock, or other materials.
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark with identifying information.
• Read work orders or oral instructions to determine work assignments and material/equipment needs.
• Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, and containers - by hand or using trucks, tractors, and other equipment.
• Sort cargo before loading or unloading.
• Assemble product containers and crates, using hand tools and pre-cut lumber.
• Load and unload ship cargo, utilizing winches or other hoisting devices.
• Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.
• Carry needed tools and supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
• Other general labor duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Industrial/manufacturing experience
• Mechanically inclined
• Excellent written/verbal communication
• Cooperative in team environments
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for entire shift
