Salary: $20/hr - $27hr, BOE
We are looking for a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to help move and handle bulk materials in a safe and efficient manner. At our facility, we primarily work with products such as coal, petroleum coke (pet coke), cement, and liquid chemicals.
Experience operating front-end loaders, wheel loaders, rough terrain forklifts, forklifts, skid steers, or similar heavy equipment is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated candidates with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
Position Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator plays an important role in daily operations by safely operating equipment, loading and unloading materials, maintaining equipment, and supporting site and rail maintenance activities. This position requires a strong focus on safety, teamwork, communication, and reliability. Operators may work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and in various weather conditions.
Pay: $20/hr - $27/hr, BOE
Schedule: Rotating schedule of 3 days on, 2 days off, with shifts rotating Monday through Friday and every other weekend.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, wheel loaders, rough terrain forklifts, forklifts, skid steers, backhoes, and other machinery.
- Load, unload, move, and stock materials throughout the facility.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues.
- Complete inspection and maintenance records using paper or electronic systems.
- Follow all company, customer, state, federal, and railroad safety regulations.
- Assist with track, material, and site maintenance as needed.
- Remove snow, vegetation, and debris from work areas to maintain safe conditions.
- Support repair and maintenance projects involving crossings, bridges, culverts, and other infrastructure.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and minor equipment repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of fuel, inventory, and material usage.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and dispatch personnel.
- Respond to emergencies or operational issues when required.
- Participate in training programs and learn job-specific skills.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete daily tasks.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience operating front-end loaders, wheel loaders, rough terrain forklifts, forklifts, skid steers, or other heavy equipment is highly preferred.
- Commitment to working safely at all times.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete required documentation.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime, rotating schedules, weekends, and holidays when needed.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and job responsibilities.
