About the Opportunity
A leading automotive manufacturing organization in the Wentzville area is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to support recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, training, and HR program administration. This role is ideal for someone who is collaborative, proactive, and highly skilled at working with employees and managers at all levels.
What You'll Do
- Participate in the full recruiting process, including interviewing, coordinating offer approvals, and guiding managers on hiring best practices and vendor management
- Support employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations as required
- Organize onboarding and coordinate training and development initiatives
- Administer and support HR programs including compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, safety, recognition, and talent management
- Promote HR programs to cultivate an effective, compliant, and conflict‑free workplace
- Provide accurate information and guidance to employees regarding benefits, compensation, and leave policies
- Manage monthly HR metrics including attendance and hiring activity
- Maintain a training matrix for regulatory, legal, and certification compliance
- Track hourly attendance and vacation usage and issue corrective actions appropriately
- Act as an advisor on sensitive, confidential, or complex HR issues, ensuring compliance with company policy, employment law, and human rights requirements
- Assist with health and safety initiatives, workers' compensation, and STD/LTD program administration
What You'll Bring
- Strong working knowledge of HR disciplines including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation, and safety
- At least 5 years of Human Resources experience
- Experience in an ISO/TS16949 automotive manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively at all organization levels
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, tact, professionalism, and confidentiality
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience supporting high‑volume hiring in manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of Missouri employment and labor laws
