Pay Rate: Between $35.00 to $45.00 based from experience
Job Purpose
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations through preventative and reactive maintenance of in-house manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and related utilities. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability, with the judgment to either complete repairs directly or coordinate outside contractors when specialized work is required. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting day-to-day production.
Duties And Responsibilities
Preventative and Reactive Maintenance
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on facilities and manufacturing equipment, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, replacements, and routine service.
• Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control-related components.
• Troubleshoot motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, sensors, and other production equipment components.
• Assist with equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers, installations, upgrades, and relocations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, service records, and parts usage documentation.
• Help identify recurring equipment issues and recommend long-term repair, replacement, or process improvement solutions.
Facility Systems and Contractor Coordination
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting related to plumbing, electrical systems, and PLC-controlled equipment, consistent with training, qualifications, and any applicable licensing requirements.
• Coordinate outside contractors for specialized or licensed work, including electrical, plumbing, controls, and equipment repair services.
• Serve as the internal point person for vendors and contractors by communicating priorities, scheduling work, arranging access, and confirming completion.
• Monitor contractor performance to help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
Operations Support and Safety
• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues to reduce downtime and keep production running.
• Follow all plant safety rules and maintenance best practices, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and safe work procedures.
• Maintain an organized maintenance area and ensure tools, spare parts, and supplies are properly stored and available.
• Operate the mobile hydraulic crane used for bulk tank loading, as trained and authorized, in accordance with company safety procedures.
Qualifications / Skills
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a facilities, manufacturing, production, or process environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and root cause problem-solving.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and PLC-related equipment maintenance preferred.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, diagrams, schematics, and technical instructions.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with outside contractors, vendors, and internal production teams.
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to document work in maintenance logs or maintenance software.
• Experience operating industrial equipment such as mobile hydraulic cranes, forklifts, manlifts, or similar machinery preferred.
• Valid driver's license required. CDL Class-A or other legally required qualifications for operating the company semi-truck preferred.
• Welding, fabrication, or formal maintenance training/certification is a plus
• English - fluent required
• Spanish - fluent/familiar preferred
