Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Lab Technician for a growing company in Ottawa, IL. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on testing, working with data, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to support product development and quality initiatives.

Schedule:
Training will occur on day shift for 4-6 weeks, followed by off-shift training before transitioning to a set shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform standardized ISO and ASTM testing methods on products and materials
• Assist with developing and refining test methods and application-based testing procedures
• Maintain detailed laboratory documentation and notebooks to support patents, trade secrets, and intellectual property
• Collaborate with production, supply chain, customers, suppliers, and quality teams to support product development initiatives
• Schedule and oversee maintenance of laboratory testing equipment
• Provide technical support to production when needed
• Assist with small capital equipment management as required
• Ensure compliance with current ISO certifications and help prepare for future certifications

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to follow standardized testing procedures and protocols
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with multiple departments
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Prior laboratory or testing experience is preferred but not required
