Role overview
Position: Life insurance sales agent
Location: Remote - must reside in the United States (hiring team based in Dayton, OH)
Employment type: 1099 independent contractor | Commission-only | Full-time or part-time
As a life insurance sales agent on our team, you'll work directly with pre-qualified prospects - people who have already requested information about life insurance coverage. You'll walk them through their options, present a solution that fits their family, and close the sale virtually by phone or Zoom. This is a fully virtual role. No door-knocking. No driving to appointments. No cold-calling off a phone book.
Key responsibilities
- Connect with pre-qualified prospects from company-provided lead programs
- Conduct needs-based insurance consultations over phone and Zoom
- Present and close final expense and term life policies virtually
- Expand into retirement and estate planning products as you develop
- Follow a proven sales framework and call script provided during training
- Submit applications digitally using our CRM and carrier platforms
- Track activity and results through our CRM
- Attend weekly live training sessions and one-on-one coaching calls
- Maintain carrier appointments and compliance standards
Qualifications and requirements
Required:
- Active life insurance license or willingness to obtain one during onboarding
- Prior sales experience (any industry)
- Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet work environment for virtual calls
- Comfortable selling virtually by phone and video
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently on a 1099 basis
Preferred:
- Previous experience in insurance, financial services, or high-ticket sales
- Familiarity with CRM and dialer software
- Experience working remotely or running an independent contractor business
- Track record of consistent production in a previous carrier or IMO (for experienced agents)
Compensation and benefits
Compensation structure: 100% commission (1099 independent contractor). This is a performance-based role - earnings depend entirely on individual sales activity, contract level, and production. Agents are paid per policy sold, with the ability to increase commission levels based on performance milestones.
Earning potential: Uncapped. Compensation varies significantly by individual effort, skill development, licensing status, and time in the role. Top producing agents working the virtual sales model at full capacity have the opportunity to earn six-figure annual income; results are not typical or guaranteed and depend on individual performance.
Commission disclosure: This is a commission-only position. There is no base salary, hourly wage, or guaranteed minimum income. Compensation is based entirely on sales production.

- Multiple lead programs - social media leads, higher-intent leads, preset appointment programs, and AI direct-transfer lead flow (optional; agents may purchase leads to supplement production)

- One-on-one mentorship from producing agents and leadership
- Licensing guidance and support for new agents pursuing their life license
