Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Load Builder / Material Handler to help load flatbed trucks with trusses and other building materials. This role is crucial for ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient loading practices that support the timely delivery of materials to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently load trusses and other building materials onto flatbed trucks according to company standards and safety protocols.
- Ensure accurate placement and secure fastening of materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Assist with material handling, including the use of forklifts, hand trucks, and other equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any issues or safety concerns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in material handling, construction, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of loading and securing techniques for flatbed trucks.
- Forklift certification is a plus (will train on out equipment).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Reliable, hardworking, and capable of working as part of a team.
