Machine Operator (Weekend Shift)

$24.00/Hour Location: Canby, OR Schedule: Friday - Sunday | 5:00 PM - 5:30 AM

Training Schedule

Candidates must be available for an initial training period of approximately 2-3 months:

Monday - Thursday | 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating production equipment, monitoring product quality, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all products meet company specifications and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment, and is committed to safety and quality.

Essential Job Duties

• Operate production machinery and make adjustments as necessary.
• Measure product dimensions and record production data using computer systems.
• Troubleshoot production equipment as skills and experience progress.
• Perform equipment and part changeovers as required.
• Monitor product quality and follow Statistical Quality Control (SQC) practices.
• Interpret control charts and adjust processes to maintain product specifications and tolerances.
• Identify and reject non-conforming product.
• Follow all company procedures, safety requirements, and lockout/tagout practices.
• Operate a forklift as needed to maintain raw material supply and inventory.
• Complete daily production and quality logs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Communicate effectively with team members across shifts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Shut down and secure equipment when not in operation.

Qualifications

Required

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including:
  • Calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Load-testing equipment
  • Comparators
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred

• CNC programming experience.
• Experience operating or working with:
  • Lathes
  • Milling machines
  • Surface grinders
  • Drill presses
  • Vertical and horizontal cut-off saws
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
