Machinist Apprentice Job DescriptionThe Machinist Apprentice supports the daily activities of the Machinist department while learning machining processes, equipment operation, and shop procedures. This role works closely with the lead machinist and plant supervisor to develop technical skills and assist with department tasks. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are key to success in this role.The apprentice will gain hands-on experience while helping ensure internal and external customer goals are met.Key FunctionsMachinist Apprentice ActivitiesAssist machinists with daily shop activities and machining operations.Learn to complete machining requests on time and return finished parts to the correct location in good condition and to specifications.Help maintain machine shop operational standards, organization, and cleanliness.Support the delivery and internal transfer of machined parts, supplies, and equipment between departments.Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, leads, and machinists.Listen to instructions and complete assigned training tasks.Build strong working relationships within the machinist department.Provide excellent internal customer service and support team goals.Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner while learning proper machining techniques.Follow quality expectations set by supervisors and experienced machinists.Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety rules required for the role.Skills & QualificationsStrong desire to learn machining skills and grow within the trade.Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.High attention to detail.Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when learning new tasks.Good organizational and time management skills.Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.Basic communication and customer service skills.#albor
