Manual Machinist

Shift: 2nd/3rd

Pay: $22-$28/hr

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree in a mechanical/electrical field preferred
• 3+ years of related machining or mechanical experience, or equivalent combination of education and training
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Proficient in basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, tolerances, and measurements
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in non-standard situations
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a strong sense of urgency

Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of machining equipment including manual lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, welders, and balancing equipment
• Perform machining tasks such as turning, milling, threading, boring, drilling, grinding, and dynamic balancing
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate machining and assembly of components
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.) to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, Oxy-Acetylene) and metal spray processes as needed
• Document measurements, calculations, and work performed in accordance with company standards
• Maintain a safe work environment while operating equipment and completing assigned tasks
