Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles and equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and meets performance standards. Ideal candidates will have hands-on mechanical experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical issues on vehicles and equipment including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
• Perform repairs on engines, fuel systems, electrical components, and hydraulic systems
• Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, brake service, and inspections
• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble components to manufacturer specifications
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service timelines
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures
• Keep work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and parts
• Communicate repair needs, timelines, and recommendations with supervisors or customers

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a mechanic (automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment preferred)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
• Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE certification or equivalent technical training
• Experience with diesel engines or heavy equipment
• Welding or fabrication experience (a plus)
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs

Work Environment

• Shop and/or field work environments
• Exposure to noise, fumes, grease, and varying weather conditions
• Fast-paced, hands-on role requiring attention to detail and safety

Compensation & Schedule

• $19-25/hr
• Pay based on experience
• Full-time / Part-time availability
• Overtime may be available
