Job Details
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and hardworking Navigator to provide safe and professional junk removal services for residential and commercial customers.
As a Truck Team Member, you will help safely remove, transport, and dispose of unwanted items while providing excellent customer service. You will represent the company at customer locations and are expected to maintain a friendly, professional, and respectful demeanor at all times.
The standard Navigator pay is $19 per hour plus any tips received on your route. Some days may also involve working in the yard, which does not receive tips.
Qualified team members who meet the driver requirements may have the opportunity to drive and earn $22 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Safely remove, transport, and unload junk according to company safety procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service to residential and commercial customers
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and respectful demeanor
- Transport and dispose of junk at authorized disposal facilities
- Provide customers with accurate estimates
- Make timely call-aheads to customers to ensure on-time arrivals
- Complete assigned routes and assist coworkers as needed
- Maintain communication with the Operations Manager throughout the day
- Perform daily truck inspections and document any deficiencies
- Assist with light truck maintenance and cleaning when needed
- Safely operate and maintain equipment
- Follow all health, safety, and safe driving guidelines
- Complete required paperwork and submit all documentation at the end of the day
- Participate in marketing activities, including sign waving, door hangers, and placing yard signs
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform
- Assist with yard work and other duties as assigned
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
- Steel-toe boots required
- Ability to clearly communicate in English, including reading and writing
- Positive, courteous, and respectful customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to provide timely notice of tardiness or absences
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including varying hours, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to perform heavier lifts with assistance from a coworker
- Ability to walk short and long distances while carrying materials
- Ability to work outdoors year-round
- Ability to work in residential and commercial environments, including entering customers' homes and personal spaces
- Comfortable working in potentially unsanitary conditions while using appropriate PPE
- Ability to use a cell phone for communication and work-related functions
- Ability to learn and use app-based work order and route management systems
Driver Opportunity
- Valid driver's license
- Safe driving record within the last 3 years
- Must be 21+ years old and eligible for company vehicle insurance coverage
- Ability to safely operate a work-provided vehicle
- Ability to complete tasks using an app-based work order and route management system
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and accurately record estimates and invoices
- Must meet all other Truck Team Member qualifications and physical requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Perform heavier lifts with assistance from a coworker
- Walk short and long distances while carrying materials
- Navigate tight spaces while carrying heavy objects
- Frequently bend, stand, sit, reach, and lift
- Ride in a company-provided vehicle
