Overhead Crane Operator

Express Employment is seeking a skilled Overhead Crane and Forklift Operator to join a dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of materials within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience operating heavy equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts, with a strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes, shipping and receiving procedures, and safety regulations. Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and move materials efficiently throughout the warehouse.
• Perform order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory control.
• Handle materials with care during loading and unloading activities, adhering to OSHA safety standards.
• Assist in shipping and receiving operations by verifying orders, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure mechanical integrity and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Support warehouse distribution tasks by organizing stock locations, stacking pallets safely, and managing heavy lifting requirements.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve safety protocols, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency.

Skills

• Proven experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes including order picking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on equipment.
• Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems for order processing.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail.
• Prior experience in warehouse supervisor roles or in environments requiring strict adherence to safety protocols is a plus.
• Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members across various functions. This position is integral to maintaining smooth operations within our facility.
