Our client is seeking an experienced Locomotive Painter & Body Man to join their rail repair and refurbishment team. This position is responsible for preparing, repairing, and painting locomotive interiors and exteriors using industrial painting and surface preparation techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience with sandblasting, body repair, industrial coatings, and working safely in heavy industrial environments.

Our client is seeking an experienced Locomotive Painter & Body Man to join their rail repair and refurbishment team. This position is responsible for preparing, repairing, and painting locomotive interiors and exteriors using industrial painting and surface preparation techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience with sandblasting, body repair, industrial coatings, and working safely in heavy industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare locomotive surfaces through sanding, grinding, scraping, cleaning, masking, taping, and power washing
- Perform sandblasting operations using approved blast media to remove rust, scale, and old coatings
- Complete body repair work including filling, glazing, dent repair, and surface finishing
- Maintain cleanliness of paint booths, blast equipment, spray guns, and work areas
- Apply primers, coatings, and industrial paint systems using pressure spray equipment
- Perform finish work including decals, stenciling, striping, and touch-up painting
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience in industrial painting, sandblasting, auto body repair, heavy equipment painting
- Knowledge of industrial coatings, paint systems, and surface preparation methods
- Experience operating pressure spray systems and pneumatic tools
- Forklift, crane, or aerial lift experience is a plus
