Part-Time Local CDL Driver / Material Handler

Schedule: Three to four days per week during operating hours of 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Local CDL Work Without a Five-Day Schedule

A local operation is hiring a part-time CDL Driver to transport materials between facilities in Champaign, Urbana, and Savoy. This position offers daytime hours, local driving, and a consistent three- to four-day workweek.

This is not a driver-only position. You will load and unload your own truck, move materials, and remain physically active throughout the workday.

What You'll Do

• Report to the Champaign location at the beginning of the shift
• Load and organize materials on the assigned truck
• Transport products between company locations in Champaign, Urbana, and Savoy
• Unload materials at each destination
• Secure loads and verify materials before transport
• Operate pallet jacks to move loads weighing approximately 100-700 pounds
• Push carts weighing at least 250 pounds
• Operate a sit-down forklift after training and qualification
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Maintain delivery information and communicate with employees at each location

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid CDL-B or CDL-A
• At least one year of commercial driving experience
• Ability to meet applicable company and DOT driving requirements
• Ability to load and unload the truck without a dedicated material handler
• Willingness and ability to learn sit-down forklift operation
• Reliable availability for three to four scheduled days each week

CDL-A is preferred and pays $20.00 per hour. Qualified CDL-B drivers will earn $18.00 per hour.

Forklift and Material-Handling Experience

Previous sit-down forklift experience is preferred but not required. Candidates without forklift experience must be willing and able to complete training.

Experience with pallet jacks, warehouse material handling, route delivery, loading, or inventory transfers may be especially valuable.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Push carts weighing at least 250 pounds
• Safely operate pallet jacks carrying loads between 100 and 700 pounds
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift, push, and pull
• Regularly enter and exit a commercial vehicle
• Remain physically active while loading, unloading, and transferring materials
