We're seeking an experienced Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator to support a small but busy HR team during a three-month temporary assignment. This role will focus primarily on payroll processing while also assisting with onboarding, reporting, employee relations, and general HR administration.
Pay: $35.00 - $42.00/hr
Responsibilities:
Payroll Management
- Process payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees, including commissions, deductions, and benefits.
- Partner with the payroll vendor to ensure accurate and timely payroll runs.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries with professionalism.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
- Prepare and distribute payroll and HR-related reports as needed.
Human Resources Support
- Maintain HR files and records (digital and physical).
- Process personnel actions, salary updates, and status changes.
- Support onboarding and orientation for new hires.
- Assist with company-wide performance review processes.
- Provide day-to-day HR support and respond to employee questions.
Recruiting & Employee Relations
- Assist in drafting and posting job descriptions.
- Support candidate communication and the hiring process.
- Promote a positive, professional workplace environment through clear and respectful communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in retail, apparel, or similar environments.
- 3+ years of payroll experience, including processing, auditing, and reporting.
- Experience using Paychex Flex strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of employment laws (FLSA, ADA, Title VII, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- High attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.
