Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 80 employees. This role also provides administrative support and performs light bookkeeping duties. The ideal candidate is highly organized, maintains strict confidentiality, and is comfortable working across payroll, administrative, and basic accounting functions.
Payroll Responsibilities
Process accurate and timely payroll for approximately 80 employees on a [weekly/biweekly/semi-monthly] basis
Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and deductions
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
Process payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and year-end reporting (W-2s, etc.)
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
Coordinate with HR and management regarding payroll-related matters
Administrative Support
Provide general administrative support such as filing, data entry, document management, and correspondence
Maintain employee records and assist with onboarding/offboarding documentation
Support office operations and assist with special projects as needed
Light Bookkeeping Duties
Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks such as data entry, expense tracking, and account reconciliations
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
Help maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Assist with month-end close support under supervision
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll-focused role
Working knowledge of payroll systems and timekeeping software
Basic understanding of bookkeeping and general accounting principles
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and/or accounting software
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
