JOB SUMMARY
- Responsible for sandblasting parts to ensure a good base finish for parts to be powder coated, while using a manual spray hose.
- Responsible for applying products with powder paint, while using a manual spray gun and automated coating system, ensuring high quality finishes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Read job orders and inspect work pieces to determine work procedures and materials required.
• Load parts to be powder coated to paint line.
• Use spray gun to evenly distribute powder coat onto parts.
• Examine finished surfaces of work pieces to verify conformance to specifications; then retouch any defective areas.
• Establish and maintain the safety protocols.
• Assist in the cleaning and maintaining of tools and equipment, using solvents, brushes, and rags.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Remove parts from the coating line and place in an appropriate place for assembly and/or packaging.
• Load parts into blast booth to be blasted.
• Daily preventative maintenance checks on machinery per SOP's.
• Unload once completed and move into the Powder area.
• Use sand blast equipment and blast parts to desired finish for painting.
• Examine parts and surfaces to make sure all areas are clean of powder coat or rust and debris.
• Load parts to be powder coated to paint line.
• Assemble products according to instructions, prints, specifications, and quality standards.
• Complete production paperwork accurately.
• Other duties as deemed appropriate by supervisor and management.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum High School or equivalent.
• Powder coating experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Constantly stand and/or walk.
• Constantly work in extreme environment, with proper PPE.
• Must have hand/eye coordination with good hand dexterity; fingers need to be able to make small movements such as picking up small to large parts.
• Frequently able to move, carry, lift 50 lbs
Definitions:
Constant (5-8 hrs/shift)
Frequent (2-5 hrs/shift)
Occasional (Up to 2 hrs/shift)
