The Opportunity

We are a manufacturer in Vancouver, Washington. Our team is looking for a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our team. This role is vital to our mission of maintaining a high-quality, in-house production flow, turning raw steel into precision-engineered components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate heavy-duty press brakes (specifically Bystronic Xpert 250-ton equipment) to form parts from steel ranging from 18-gauge to 1/2-inch.
  • Technical Setup: Perform tool and die changes, program adjustments, and calibrate machinery to meet exact bend specifications.
  • Quality Control: Measure and inspect finished parts for total uniformity; collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to refine assembly documentation and work instructions.
  • Inventory & Safety: Manage material restocking, report material discrepancies to leadership, and maintain a rigorous standard of shop safety.
  • Reporting: This position works closely with the welding lead to ensure production timelines are met.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on press brake operation.
  • Technical Literacy: You can read and interpret weld prints and callouts with ease.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Excel for maintaining production spreadsheets and documentation.
  • Precision: An eye for detail and the ability to perform manual tooling adjustments when automation needs a human touch.
  • Education: High school diploma/GED or equivalent additional job experience.
  • Safety: Employment is contingent upon a successful background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently.
  • Capability to stand, reach, kneel, and stoop throughout a shift in a factory environment.
  • Strong close-range vision and the ability to hear shop safety signals (horns/alarms).
  • Comfort working in a shop environment with varying temperatures and moderate to loud noise levels.
