Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Property Manager to oversee the operations of a newly developed residential property. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a new community from the ground up-managing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with affordable housing regulations, and maintaining high occupancy through effective leasing and retention strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lease up new apartment units and maintain high occupancy levels
- Market and show units to prospective tenants and manage the full leasing process
- Ensure compliance with all affordable housing program requirements, including income verification and required documentation
- Oversee daily property operations including rent collection, maintenance coordination, resident relations, and reporting
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, vendors, and team members
- Prepare and manage property budgets, financial reports, and expense tracking
- Conduct regular inspections of property and units to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needs
- Enforce lease agreements and community policies with professionalism and consistency
Required Qualifications:
- Prior leasing experience with affordable housing properties is required
- Knowledge of affordable housing compliance programs such as Section 8 or LIHTC
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage leasing goals and maintain resident satisfaction
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient with property management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with new property lease-ups
- Familiarity with Fair Housing laws and local housing regulations
- Bilingual skills are a plus
