What You Get to Do!
The Senior General Ledger Accountant ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts, reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger, maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. The Senior General Ledger Accountant analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses, prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done thinking 'Safety First'.
• Assist in managing and mentoring the current accounting team.
• Assign and review staff's work.
• Produce error-free accounting reports and efficiently present results.
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
• Prepare intercompany eliminations.
• Prepare monthly Budget vs Actual reporting
• Record lease entries in accordance with ASC 842.
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
• Work closely with international teams for monthly financial reporting and consolidations.
• Prepare and document journal entries and reconciliations relating to balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare account reconciliations for assigned areas in a timely manner.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and workflow quality, such as reporting and schedule templates, data conformity, and systemization.
• Support annual financial audit and review processes.
• Assist with tax returns.
• Support accounting process for domestic and international subsidiary operations.
• Perform other related accounting duties as assigned.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly and year-end close and financial reporting information.
• Record and track rebates.
• Provide input into department's goal setting process.
• Good communication skills.
What You Will Bring…
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required.
• Must have 3-5 years of experience in corporate / GL function or combination with public accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, related software and computers.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups, pivot tables, and macros.
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
• Excellent general ledger system, computer, and business solutions software skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, managers, and personnel from various departments.
• Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
