Job Title: Shipping Associate Department: Shipping Location: Lebanon, OR Reports To: Shipping Supervisor Position Summary The Shipping Associate is responsible for executing daily shipping operations to ensure accurate, eUicient, and on-time delivery of finished goods. This role focuses on building customer orders, arranging freight shipments, and maintaining proper inventory rotation using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles within a grass seed manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Order Fulfillment & Load Building Accurately pick, stage, and build customer orders based on shipping documentation using SAP Safely and eUiciently build palletized loads to meet customer and carrier requirements Verifying product, lot numbers, quantities, and packaging prior to shipment Ensure loads are stable, properly wrapped, and labeled for transport Freight Coordination Coordinate outbound shipments with carriers and internal teams Schedule pickups and ensure timely shipment of orders Prepare and verify shipping documentation including BOLs (Bills of Lading), packing slips, and labels Communicate with customer service, production, and warehouse teams regarding order status and shipment timelines FIFO Inventory Management Maintain strict adherence to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices Ensure correct lot rotation to preserve seed quality and compliance standards Monitor inventory locations and report discrepancies or aging inventory risks Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed Safety & Compliance Follow all safety procedures and company policies in manufacturing and warehouse environment Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (if certified) Maintain a clean and organized shipping and staging area Support compliance with quality standards specific to seed handling and storage Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent 1+ year of experience in shipping, warehouse, or manufacturing environment Basic understanding of inventory systems and shipping processes Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to become certified Strong attention to detail and accuracy Preferred Experience in agricultural or seed manufacturing operations Familiarity with FIFO inventory systems Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems Skills & Competencies Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving and attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting Ability to work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment (dust, temperature changes, etc.) Work Environment Manufacturing and warehouse setting within a grass seed production facility Exposure to seed dust and varying temperatures depending on season #albor
