Small Engine Technical Support Specialist (Phone Support)
Full-Time | 100% On-Site | Paid Training Provided

Do you have experience working with small engines or mechanical equipment? Are you the go-to person for troubleshooting and explaining repairs in simple, clear terms? We are hiring Small Engine Technical Support Specialists to join our on-site phone support team. In this role, you'll provide expert assistance to customers on products such as lawnmowers, generators, and other small engine equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with hands-on mechanical or electrical background-such as gas engine repair, small motor work, or diagnostics-who are ready to shift into a support career while still applying their technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver first-call resolution technical support for lawn equipment, generators, and small engine machinery.
• Troubleshoot and walk customers step-by-step through repairs or maintenance over the phone, email, and chat.
• Use systems including NetSuite, Microsoft Office Suite, and internal databases to assist with parts look-up and order entry.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and product manuals to identify solutions and replacement parts.
• Provide quotes for parts and recommend solutions using manuals and pricing guides.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality while adhering to shift schedules.
• Participate in a shadow day (1-2 hours) before hire to ensure fit and comfort with the role.
• Complete a 2-week training program including hands-on product training.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Hands-on experience with small engines or mechanical/electrical repair (e.g., lawnmowers, motorcycles, generators, power equipment, or appliances).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical repairs in plain language.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments, especially during storm season or emergency response periods.
• Ability to multitask, remain calm, and provide empathetic, professional support during urgent situations.
• Familiarity with reading blueprints, parts diagrams, and troubleshooting documentation.
• Flexible and willing to work mandatory overtime during peak demand.

• NetSuite (for parts ordering)
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Internal CRM and customer support portals

Performance Metrics:

• Call availability (live agent within 30 seconds)
• First-call resolution rate
• Missed/abandoned call rate
• Call quality and duration

Additional Details:

• On-site position only (no remote work)
• Average call volume: 10-15 calls per day
• Open to candidates with customer service experience and mechanical aptitude
• Hiring process includes phone screening and in-person STAR behavioral interview
