Express Employment Professionals of Everett is hiring a Staff Accountant for asmall, fast-paced company located in Marysville, WA. Starting pay is $27-$30 per hour. This is a full-time, evaluation hire position onday shift working Monday-Friday, 8:00/9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. All work is on-site (no remote).
This role supports the Controller and plays a strategic part in the financial and operational management of the business. The ideal candidate is mature, dependable, and self-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative. You'll thrive in a laid-back environment while handling a wide range of responsibilities-from high-level accounting to hands-on operational tasks.

Express Employment Professionals of Everett is hiring a Staff Accountant for asmall, fast-paced company located in Marysville, WA. Starting pay is $27-$30 per hour. This role supports the Controller and plays a strategic part in the financial and operational management of the business. The ideal candidate is mature, dependable, and self-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative. You'll thrive in a laid-back environment while handling a wide range of responsibilities-from high-level accounting to hands-on operational tasks.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform and oversee core accounting functions:
- Accounts Payable (AP) invoice entry and processing
- Accounts Receivable (AR) invoice review and reconciliation
- B&O tax coding and compliance
- Monthly and year-end close procedures
- Bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Sales tax filings
- Research and resolution of accounting discrepancies
- Support the Controller with special projects and strategic initiatives
- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Take ownership of delegated tasks and follow through independently
Requirements:
- Must be well-versed in AP/AR and B&O Taxes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Proven dependability and initiative
- Minimum six months of recent work experience
- Two professional references required
