Position Summary:
The Surgical Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, maintaining block schedules, and managing patient surveys and related administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgical procedures and ensure accuracy of patient demographic information and required documentation
- Maintain and manage block scheduling to optimize operating room utilization
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and internal staff within the ASC and physician practices
- Provide timely, accurate, and responsive information to patients, physicians, and stakeholders
- Coordinate workflows and route documentation to meet physician and facility requirements
- Ensure efficient and professional telephone communication
- Follow all established protocols, policies, and procedures
- Answer patient questions related to scheduling, preparation, and required documentation
- Handle patient surveys and associated administrative tasks
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or medical setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
