Systems Administrator

Systems Administrator - $40.00 - $60.00 per hour

Location: Northbrook, IL
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Hybrid

Express has partnered with a local company to fill a Systems Administrator to support and maintain its IT infrastructure while providing advanced technical support to end users. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional with experience in systems administration, virtualization, networking, and cloud technologies.

 

Systems Administrator Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers
• Perform server patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)
• Monitor and troubleshoot servers, storage, backups, and network issues
• Support AWS S3 backup solutions and disaster recovery testing
• Manage Active Directory/Azure user accounts, permissions, and MFA
• Image and deploy PCs and provide Tier 2 desktop support
• Assist with network, telephony, and video conferencing support
• Maintain IT documentation, asset inventories, and security compliance
• Participate in infrastructure projects and continuous IT improvements

 

Systems Administrator Qualifications

• 3+ years of Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support experience
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure
• Working knowledge of Linux, VMware or Hyper-V, networking, and enterprise backups
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
• Experience with AWS and ISO27001 is a plus
