Position Summary The Welder, TIG/MIG is a position in the welding department. The employee should be capable of fixturing methods, set-up and operation of MIG and TIG and operation of the Robotic Welder, production fabrication and prototype fabrication methods and practices.

Location: Cicero, IL

Pay Rate: $21-23 DOE

Shift: 1st 5am-1:30pm and 2nd 3:30pm-12am

Responsibilities

• Ability to reads blueprints, bills of materials, and written work orders required in the fabrication of welded parts
• Maintains all shop equipment, tools and fixtures for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of equipment in the welding department
• Keeps accurate production records such as number of good and defective units produced per job. Rejects damaged or non-conforming items; records shortages, and communicates findings to the Leadsman/Plant Manager
• Responds to emergency situations as needed, for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns

Education & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Up to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience a plus.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information, in one-on-one and small group situations to, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add and subtract small, medium or large numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Must be able to use a tape measure or other measuring devices such as calipers and to work with tolerances of 1/64' of an inch. Must be able to read a decimal chart and complex drawings to verify product identification.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.

• The employee must regular lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds. Must have specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach
• Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
• May work at different stations as production needs required, or shifts from one station to another during assembly process.
• The use of Safety Glasses and Safety Shoes is required
