Responsibilities
- Mount, dismount, balance, rotate, and repair tires on passenger, light truck, and commercial vehicles
- Perform tire inspections to identify tread wear, sidewall damage, leaks, and safety concerns
- Use shop equipment including tire changers, wheel balancers, impact tools, torque wrenches, and air compressors
- Install valve stems, TPMS sensors, and perform TPMS resets or relearns
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper torque specifications and wheel-installation standards
- Assist with basic automotive services (oil changes, light mechanical work) as needed
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment
- Provide friendly, professional customer service and communicate findings clearly
- Support inventory management by stocking tires, supplies, and shop materials
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Tire Technician required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and have your own tools
- Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods
- Knowledge of tire repair techniques, tire-mounting procedures, and wheel-balancing standards
- Understanding of torque specs, load ratings, speed ratings, and basic vehicle safety
- Ability to diagnose tire-related issues such as vibration, leaks, and uneven wear
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a tire shop, auto repair facility, or dealership
- TPMS certification or experience with TPMS diagnostic tools
- ASE certification in automotive maintenance or repair (optional)
- Familiarity with commercial tires, roadside service, or heavy-duty equipment (if applicable)
