Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across procurement, logistics, warehouse, transportation, and volunteer operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee procurement of more than 100 million pounds of food annually, including vendor management, budgeting, inventory, and distribution metrics.
- Manage relationships and contracts with local food banks, partner agencies, vendors, and service providers to support community-wide supply chain operations.
- Lead the volunteer engagement program, optimizing processes, project efficiencies, and training to meet operational needs.
- Direct all facets of warehouse and fleet operations, including safety, compliance (DOT, AIB, USDA, city/state), audits, contracts, and capital projects.
- Oversee facilities management, including maintenance, safety, sustainability, vendor contracts, and capital expenditures for a large-scale distribution center.
- Manage partnerships with 600+ agencies, including logistics coordination, shared delivery networks, and compliance with memorandums of understanding.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of direct and indirect reports, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational metrics.
- Represent the organization externally with stakeholders, partners, and industry networks.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, logistics best practices, and supply chain optimization strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain and logistics operations.
- Strong financial and business acumen, with proven ability to manage multimillion-dollar budgets.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Expertise in logistics network design, procurement, transportation, and warehouse management.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills; ability to represent the organization externally.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance strategic vision and tactical execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with supply chain systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, AGI, WMS/TMS).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and travel.
