Key Responsibilities
- Safely maneuver trucks and trailers throughout the yard for staging, loading, and unloading
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Operate a variety of equipment, including flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and forklifts
- Assist with loading and unloading freight, ensuring proper cargo securement
- Maintain accurate logs of trailer movements and report any discrepancies or mechanical issues
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to optimize yard flow and delivery schedules
- Adhere to all safety protocols and DOT regulations while operating equipment
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with Tanker Endorsement
- Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Experience with flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or forklifts preferred
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and yard operations
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
- Prior commercial driving or yard jockey experience
- Route driving or delivery experience is a plus
- Strong communication and time management skills
