We are hiring an Automotive Service Technician for a busy, well-established auto shop in St Joe, IL. This role is ideal for a lube tech or mechanic who wants steady work and hands-on experience.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
- Inspect vehicles and identify basic mechanical issues.
- Replace brakes, pads, rotors, belts, hoses, and other wear components.
- Rotate and balance tires; perform basic suspension and steering checks.
- Use hand tools and shop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow shop procedures.
- Communicate findings clearly with service advisors or lead technicians.
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in automotive repair.
- Previous experience as a lube tech, tire tech, or auto mechanic preferred.
- Own Tools and Valid Driver's License.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Own basic hand tools preferred.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
