Garage Mechanic - Danville, IL
Pay: $15-$17/hour
Shift: 1st Shift

We're looking for a skilled Garage Mechanic to join our team in Danville, IL! In this hands-on role, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and trailers, keeping our fleet safe and running efficiently. If you have mechanical skills, enjoy problem-solving, and take pride in quality work, this is the job for you.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Diagnose and perform routine repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers
• Replace parts and components to rebuild units at scheduled intervals
• Inspect and test equipment regularly, removing unsafe or malfunctioning equipment from service
• Inspect, test, and align lights, wheels, and electrical systems
• Disassemble, inspect, and replace broken or worn parts, including motors, transmissions, clutches, steering devices, brakes, wheels, and hydraulic systems
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and parts usage
• Requisition parts from the Garage Manager as needed

What You Bring to the Table:

• Good working knowledge of air brakes, electrical systems, suspension, steering, and general trailer repairs
• Basic diagnostic skills and problem-solving abilities
• Physical strength and agility to lift 40+ pounds and climb on vehicles for diagnosis and repair
• Must have own tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
